Get Poked at Avant Garde Aleworks! We're teaming up with Space Coyote Tattoo to offer flash tattoos and beer poking in the taproom in honor of Friday the 13th. Flash tattoos will be first come, first served and designs will be available to view the day of the event in the taproom, so stop in and pick one that you love.
Beer poking, also known as Bierstacheln in German, is a winter tradition that involves heating a metal rod in a fire and then plunging it into a glass of beer. This causes sugars in the beer to caramelize and the foam to become extra frothy. Don’t worry – the beer remains cool and drinkable, all while highlight the rich malt characteristics of the beer.
Join us in the taproom and get poked – with a tattoo or a fun caramelized beer! Specialty merch will also be available to mark the occasion while supplies last.
