SUMMARY:J1 Welcome Task Force
DESCRIPTION:The Estes Chamber is collaborating with J1 host agencies\, employers and community members who are interested in providing assistance to these students traveling from all over the world to serve as our summer workforce. We are creating welcome events and activities that will connect these students with our community in a few ways. \n\n	Open House at the library several days a week in late May/early June introducing students to local information\, activities\, resources\, our J1 web page\, etc. \n	A welcome event where we can connect community members with students at tables during a potluck (or catered) lunch and offer connections with the social security office\, banks\, insurance resources\, health care connections and more. \n	Field trips taking students around the state to shop down the valley\, attend a Rockies game\, visit the Colorado Springs zoo and Garden of the Gods\, etc. \n	Working with the high school to create a home host program following the foreign exchange student model. \n	Collaborate with the business community on housing solutions. \n\nThis planning meeting will help activate teams to make this happen in the summer of 2022.
