SUMMARY:"Stay Healthy Streets" Pilot for Downtown Estes Park
DESCRIPTION:As communities across the country search for space for pedestrians and shoppers to spread out\, many are looking to reclaim some of their downtown roadways for trolleys\, pedestrians\, and cyclists. While the idea of a downtown pedestrian mall is not new to Estes Park\, what is new is our personal need to stay safe by giving each other a little more space this summer while exploring our beautiful downtown during this COVID-19 pandemic. \n\n\n\nPhysical distancing coupled with the Town's narrow sidewalk infrastructure has prompted interest in the community to explore temporary repurposing of some of our roads\, parks\, and parking lots during the busiest visitation times this summer. The Town's citizen-led Transportation Advisory Board and Town Public Works staff would like to hear from our downtown merchants.\n\n\n\nIf the Chamber is the voice of business\, we need your voice! Please join us on Friday\, May 15\, 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.\, to share your thoughts on this pilot project to temporarily reclaim some of the downtown public spaces this summer. \n\n \n\nGuest speaker: Greg Muhonen\, Public Works Director\n\n \n\nIf you are unable to attend but you would like to share your thoughts on this topic (or have questions!)\, feel free to email Vanessa Solesbee (vsolesbee@estes.org).
