The 17TH AVENUE ALL-STARS are a long-admired all-vocal fusion collective based in Denver Colorado. With a natural vigor as entertainers, their unique performances have been seen at a variety of stages and events nationwide. The ALLSTARS perpetual evolution and desire to innovate are as relevant today as when Norm Silver founded the group nearly four decades ago. Combining their individual styles with innate musicianship, the ALLSTARS continue to bring new and unexpected imaginations to jazz, R&B, rock, pop and hip hop through an ever-growing repertoire spanning from the 1940s to the present. With an array of musical backgrounds and influences in classical, opera, barbershop, rock, funk, and acid jazz, they blend their perspectives to merge into an impeccably timeless sound. More recently, they have added distinct real-time audio looping techniques to their live shows, mesmerizing audiences with layers of sound and enhancing their already remarkable production. First assembled by Norm Silver in 1988 from a gathering of highly talented actors and studio session singers, the early group made their debut in 1989 performing on 17 th Ave and Humboldt St near downtown Denver. From these beginnings, they found early success with winning the Harmony Sweepstakes International, going on to release eight full-length projects to critical acclaim while also sharing the stage with such luminaries as The Temptations, The Four Tops, Rockapella, and both the late great Mel Tormé and BB King.
