Description
Hey business community, thanks for joining in the fun. We need you to sign up so we can stay in touch with you, send you game graphics and communicate weekly game cards. Here's a Q&A that might help:
If I sign up and someone gets COVID, will I have to shut down?
No. Your registration is not contact tracing. We just need to contact you with details, posters, etc. The reason this is an outdoor activity is that COVID makes so many things unpredictable, keeping it outdoors helps us keep it going.
Do I have to register in the window dressing contest to participate?
No. It seems like a good idea to link the events, but you don't have to register with the contest to put an elk in the window.
Do I create my own masked elk to put in the window?
No. We'll create all the graphics for you. We just need you to sign up and let us know what holiday advice YOUR elk is going to say. We'll send you the completed graphics next week with more instructions.
You mentioned a game card. I don't see one on the scavenger hunt web page.
We haven't created the first game card yet. We're waiting to see how many companies and how many prizes we have before we create the first game card, which we will post the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
Can players just turn their game card into the Chamber?
Yes. The reason we're using Google pages it to make this a contact free event. The Chamber is not receiving visitors because of the darned pandemic, but we'll put a game card envelope outside our door.
Do I have to have a downtown business to play?
No. The game is intended to send visitors and shoppers all over town. We have created zones to get folks up Moraine and out St. Vrain, all the way around the lake and into Stanley Village. Our goal is to drive traffic to your door. Even though they can gather their game card info through your window display, YOU have a great opportunity to lure them in with a freebie, BOGO or special.
Do I have to have a storefront to play?
No. This is open to everybody, even lodging. If you don't have a window display, we can post your elk on your website.
Is this just for kids?
Depends on how young at heart you are. You can see from the array of prizes at esteschamber.org/scavenger-hunt that this is not just for kids. Our aim is to get shoppers in your store.
Can I promote this on my web site or social media?
Yes. The success of this game is to get the word out to all our friends and visitors. We will supply you with lots of memes and videos to post or share directly from the Shop Estes Facebook page.
How many prizes are given out every week?
We're running this for four weeks. Depending on how many prizes are donated, there might be 4-5 prizes issued each week. Entries will be categorized by the number of zones they hit. The more zones they visit, the higher the prize they qualify for.
Is this perfect?
No. It's an attempt to create some fun that will sustain any level of pandemic chaos. Use the drive by traffic to let folks know what you have to offer. If we move to Orange or Red COVID levels, direct them to shop online. Let's band together to shop local.
