Description
The Living Dream: 100 Years of Rocky Mountain National Park
Join us for this very special Film by Nick Molle, as we celebrate the Living Dream and the RMNP 100 year celebration.
The Living Dream is the latest in a series of seven documentaries that we at Nick Molle Productions have paced on PBS. Five of these have been filmed in Rocky Mountain national Park with this one being our most significant work to date. It tells a story that had never been told and needed to be told. It is the story of the unique relationship of a community to a national park, a relationship of shared passions and dreams.
The people of Estes Park and Grand Lake survived hardship, disappointment, and controversy while focusing on a mission to have Rocky Mountain National Park stand out as a shining landmark of natural beauty in Colorado. As people from all over the world came to visit, an unprecedented concept was taking root; the economics of preservation.
Enos Mills, F.O. Stanley, Isabella Bird and Abner Sprague are just four of the many whose dedication is depicted in this story about one of America’s greatest national treasures. Through historical photographs and vintage movie footage, these characters are brought to life weaved into the stunning high definition scenery of today’s Rocky mountain National Park.
This movie will plays on Wednesdays June through September 2024
