Operations Manager -Estes Chamber of Commerce:

Position Overview:
The Operations Manager is a pivotal role within the Estes Chamber of Commerce, overseeing daily operations, coordinating economic development initiatives, and fostering a thriving local business environment. This individual will support the Chamber’s efforts to promote economic vitality and community engagement, ensuring the Chamber serves as a central resource for businesses and residents.

 

Operations Management

    Work with Chamber President and Membership & Event Specialist on overall operations for both the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development & Workforce Council. 

 

Chamber of Commerce: 

  • Oversee day-to-day Chamber activities, including membership services, event planning, and communications.

  • Manage budgets, financial records, and reporting to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic goals.

  • Supervise staff and volunteers, providing guidance and training.

  • Maintain and enhance relationships with Chamber members, community stakeholders, and regional partners.

  • Serve as a point of contact for Chamber inquiries and may represent the Chamber in public forums.

  • Act as an advocate for local businesses and promote shopping local initiatives.

 

Economic Development & Workforce Council (EDWC):

  • Work with Chamber President and Economic Development & Workforce Council (EDWC) to develop and implement Annual Operating Plan. 

  • Collaborate with local government, business leaders, and community organizations to identify and pursue economic growth opportunities.

  • Promote workforce development initiatives to align local skills with business needs.

  • Seek out and manage grant opportunities to fund economic development projects.

  • Be familiar with local economic trends and provide insights to guide community planning and development.

 

Operations:

  • Maintain current knowledge of overall office policies, procedures and practices affecting all programs, activities and personnel. Develop and implement or propose procedures for the efficient operation of the office. 

  • Oversee office technology such as printer/copier, postage machine, credit card machines, and phones

  • Order office supplies as needed 

  • Ensure ChamberMaster is current and update as needed

  • Serve as a thought partner and sounding board for the Chamber President

  • Serve as a liaison between the Chamber, EDWC, local government, and regional economic development organizations.

  • Communicate the Chamber’s and EDWC mission and initiatives through public speaking, media appearances, and written correspondence.

  • Coordinate with team on:

    • Social Media, weekly and monthly newsletters. 

    • Assist with planning, communication and facilitating of events and workshops

    • Assist with planning Alliance meetings – including communication, agenda preparation and meeting minutes

    • Assist with monthly Board and EDWC meetings, communication and meeting minutes

    • Call members as needed for renewal

    • Oversee and take the lead on the thank you process for members

    • Facilitating relationships with Chamber members and with EDWC investors

 

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in operations management or community leadership preferred. Economic Development experience is a plus. 

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in day to day and annual financial management

  • Grant writing experience a plus but not a requisite

  • Event planning experience helpful

 

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation range, $24 to $29 / hour

  • Benefits package including 

    • Health insurance stipend - $200 to $400 monthly

    • PTO – 12 days annually
